Once upon a time, this villa used to host wild parties defined by luxury and the most expensive champagne. Billion dollar deals were negotiated here. Howevever, the villa of controversial entrepreneur Radovan Krejčíř has been deteriorating for years, and what's more, it was hit by a fire in August. That caused its value to drop from the original starting price of 49 million to 28 million. Yet there were no buyers this time either.
The electronic auction of the villa and adjacent land took place on Thursday, January 9, from 11 am to 1 pm at the server e-drazby.cz. The starting price was exactly CZK 28,076,000. The auction was organized by the Executor's Office in Brno-město. Expert opinion of the villa placed it at CZK 42,114,000.
The land area stretches over 1,950 square meters, of which the usable surface area is 578 square meters. According to the Land Registry, the owner of the property is Krejčíř's wife Kateřina.
Faded fame and luxury
After the fire in August, the property requires extensive reconstruction, otherwise it is absolutely uninhabitable. First of all, the roof needs to be repaired. Due to its depreciation, there are leaks in the ceiling, which further worsens the condition of the rest of the property.
In addition, several executions from the time of Krejčíř's shady business activities are imposed on the house. Radovan Krejčíř escaped from the house during a police intervention in 2005. Back in the day, the luxury villa of the controversial businessman, who is currently serving thirty-five years of prison time in South Africa, had indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, a lift, a marble staircase or even a shark aquarium.
Investment for foreigners
Chances for sale are estimated to be close to zero. Although the house was very luxurious and pompous once, today it is a ruin in a dilapidated state. Moreover, the public perceives the property very negatively. According to real estate experts, the only thing that has any value here is the location with a spectacular view. Thus, a potential buyer could be a foreigner who is not interested in the building's history and former owner. However, even foreigners apparently aren't interested in the ruin.
